More of It's all about the Paper!

These cards I made either this spring, or at a retreat last weekend. It truly is all about the paper! Sometimes I feel like I'm "cheating", but the paper makes such fun and pretty cards!

Don't forget--if you have extra photos laying around, they work too! This is one from Santa Barbara--I have not been there, but a friend had an extra. This is just cutting into strips--a number of other stampers actually added 1/8 inch mats behind the photo pieces, which I believe looks better.

Don't forget those punches!

Punch art is, I think, just as fun as stamping. These cards were easier, but fun!

Using Embossing Folders

These cards were made with embossing folders, but not just embossed backgrounds. I colored these--used the embossed image as the main part of the card. Oh, the possibilities!

Stamping Retreat

There is a Lutheran Church down the road from us, who although we do not attend the church, has graciously allowed me to join their stamping group. The church itself has a large outreach program, and we make cards for some of the outreach groups. They have a retreat every April up north--there was a sailing theme this year, so we made cards with that theme. It's amazing how a group of 16 women can be given similar supplies, and come up with such different results! I wish I would have thought to take pictures of the other cards. These are the ones I made:

And here is our itinerary for the weekend:

Quick cards from Echo Park

Echo Park has a lot of 6x6 paper pads--I think this one is Sunflower Summer. The pad comes with 65 pound double-sided papers, along with pages with punch-out items, and sayings that you can cut apart. It's a nice quick way to make cards!

Christmas Cards

These were some of the Christmas cards I made this year--not for our friends, but the Lutheran church down the road was able to use them. The layout was from a Stampin' Up! get together last summer, the cardstock and dies are Stampin' Up!, the papers are not.

Finishing Other People's Cards

I have been gifted supplies over the last several years, I believe mostly because I am involved in a women's ministry with the Lutheran Church down the block. One of the sets of supplies was from a generous gal down in the southern part of the Twin Cities. She had a number of boxes of scrapbook paper supplies, card making supplies, half finished projects. She had started making cards from a scrapbook pad that would have been great for making kids' scrapbooks on a monthly theme. Lots of paper for each of the 12 months of the year. She had started cutting out pieces for about 150 cards--I'm working on making 12, one for each month. The rest of the supplies were gifted to an art teacher in an elementary school. I have a 2nd one for February, gave to my hubby for Valentine's Day.

The last of the card uploads

Ok, I'm finally caught up taking pictures of the cards I've made, and uploading them to either here or Splitcoaststampers! Sometime...
